About Pietro Chiesa

Pietro Chiesa (1892-1948) was an Italian architect, designer, and artist known for his significant contributions to the field of furniture and decorative arts. He was born on July 16, 1892, in Milan, Italy.

Chiesa initially studied at the Brera Academy in Milan, where he developed a deep appreciation for art and design. His passion for modernism and innovative design led him to become one of the key figures of the Italian Art Deco movement during the early 20th century.

In 1921, Chiesa co-founded the artistic glassworks company FontanaArte with the renowned designer and architect Gio Ponti. This collaboration marked the beginning of Chiesa's influential career in the field of decorative arts. Under his artistic direction, FontanaArte became renowned for its
