About Paul Evans
Paul Evans (1931-1987) was an American furniture designer and sculptor known for his innovative and distinctive approach to creating functional art pieces. He was born on May 26, 1931, in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
Evans initially studied at the School of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, where he developed a strong foundation in traditional craftsmanship. However, his artistic vision soon diverged from the traditional path, and he began experimenting with unconventional materials and techniques.
In the 1950s, Evans started working for the renowned furniture company Directional, where he gained recognition for his unique designs. He was heavily influenced by the organic forms of nature, as well as the emerging Pop Art movement. Evans' furniture Read Full Bio
