Tudor
Tudor furniture describes English furniture during the 16th century. Tudor furniture received its name after the reign of the House of Tudor during 1485-1603. Tudor furniture can be described as Gothic in character consisting of solid wood, heavy and large in size, and richly carved. Although Tudor furniture focused mainly on form rather than decor, some popular Tudor style ornamentation consisted of roses, strapwork, inlaying and caryatids. Oak was the predominant wood used to make Tudor style furniture.
Armoire
An armoire is a large decorative cabinet that can be used to store clothes or electronics. Armoires generally have two tall doors and lots of storage options, such as hanging space, built in drawers or smaller cabinets. Due to their relatively large size, an armoire is considered an excellent option for those who need extra closet space. The armoire originated in the late 16th century and was originally built to store weapons and tools.
Pine
A popular wood for furniture-making, valued for its softness and workability. Because of its softness, it is more shock-absorbent than other hardwoods. It is a lighter wood in color, ranging from tan to a creamy white color, sometimes with dark, distinct knots. It is an extremely common wood variety.
