El Corte

El Corte, also known as Cortegraff (b.1989) is a Chilean artist that is a graphic designer by profession and graduate of Calligraphy and Lettering from the University of Chile. A self taught artist, Cortegraff made his first mural at the age of 25, and came to exhibit in urban circuits in Chile inspired by Chilean street art.

“I like to have my art on the street. Although it may be on a canvas in a gallery, I like it more to have it on the walls, because I think it is the best support an artist can have”. Cortegraff’s work stands out for it's constant search for written language through an elegant play of lines typical of the calligraphic studio lettering with the exploration of color.
