About Cees Braakman
Cees Braakman (1917-1995) was a Dutch furniture designer and artist known for his innovative contributions to the field of furniture and decorative arts. He played a significant role in shaping the modernist movement and is considered one of the most influential designers of the 20th century.
Born on August 11, 1917, in Utrecht, Netherlands, Braakman showed an early interest in art and design. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, where he honed his skills in furniture design and craftsmanship. After completing his studies, he joined the renowned Dutch furniture manufacturer Pastoe in 1937.
Braakman's collaboration with Pastoe proved to be a turning point in his career. He quickly rose through the ranks and became the company's chief designer in Read Full Bio
