This furniture is influenced by Georgian and Adam styles, and are characterized by sharp geometric forms, straight legs, contrasting veneers, and inlay patterns. These pieces were most commonly made with mahogany; however, cherry, pine, and maple were also used. The most common ornament on this period of furniture was the eagle.
