In the 1940s, De Carli established his own design studio in Milan, where he started creating furniture pieces that combined functionality with artistic expression. He believed that furniture should not only serve its practical purpose but also enhance the overall aesthetic of a space. De Carli's designs were characterized by clean lines, geometric shapes, and a focus on simplicity. He often incorporated natural materials such as wood and leather, emphasizing their organic qualities. His furniture pieces were known for their exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Throughout his career, De Carli collaborated with several prominent Italian furniture manufacturers, including Cassina, Singer & Sons, and Tecno. His designs were highly sought after and received critical acclaim both in Italy and internationally. De Carli's contributions to the field of furniture design extended beyond his own creations. He also served as a professor at the Politecnico di Milano, where he mentored numerous aspiring designers and shared his knowledge and passion for the craft. Carlo De Carli's work has been exhibited in prestigious museums and galleries worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan. His designs continue to be admired for their timeless elegance and innovative approach. Carlo De Carli passed away on August 5, 1999, leaving behind a rich legacy in the world of furniture and decorative arts. His contributions to the field have had a lasting impact on the design community, and his designs remain highly influential to this day.
