About Arne Hovmand-Olsen
Arne Hovmand-Olsen (1919-1989) was a Danish furniture designer and artist known for his contributions to the field of mid-century modern design. He was born on October 15, 1919, in Denmark.
Hovmand-Olsen initially trained as a cabinetmaker before furthering his education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He graduated in 1944 and embarked on a career that would establish him as one of Denmark's most influential designers of the 20th century.
In the early years of his career, Hovmand-Olsen collaborated with several renowned Danish furniture manufacturers, including Mogens Kold, Bramin, and P. Jeppesen.
