In the 1950s, Gavina began her career in the furniture industry, working alongside her husband, Cesare Cassina. Together, they founded the iconic furniture company, Cassina. Gavina played a crucial role in the company's success, contributing her innovative design ideas and creative vision.

Gavina's designs were characterized by their sleek and modern aesthetic. She drew inspiration from various artistic movements, including Bauhaus and the International Style. Her furniture pieces often featured clean lines, geometric shapes, and a
