About Luther Conover

Luther Conover (1907-1999) was an American furniture designer and craftsman known for his innovative and artistic approach to creating functional pieces. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Conover developed an early passion for woodworking and design, which led him to pursue a career in the field of furniture and decorative arts.

Conover's formal education in design began at the Art Institute of Chicago, where he studied under renowned furniture designer and educator, Walter H. Brehm. During his time at the institute, Conover honed his skills in traditional furniture-making techniques and gained a deep understanding of craftsmanship.

After completing his studies, Conover started his own furniture studio in Chicago in the late 1930s. He quickly gained recognition for his
