About Billy Haines

Billy Haines (1900-1973) was an American furniture and interior designer, as well as a prominent Hollywood actor. He was born on January 2, 1900, in Staunton, Virginia.

Haines began his career in the entertainment industry as an actor in the early 1920s, appearing in several silent films. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and charisma, becoming a popular leading man. However, his acting career took an unexpected turn when he was offered an opportunity to design furniture for a film set.

Inspired by this experience, Haines decided to pursue a new path in the world of design. In 1930, he opened his own interior design firm in Los Angeles, California. His unique style, characterized by clean lines, luxurious materials, and a blend of traditional and
