About Arne Vodder

Arne Vodder (1926-2009) was a Danish furniture designer known for his innovative and functional designs that became iconic representations of mid-century modern Danish design.

Born on November 8, 1926, in Denmark, Vodder studied architecture at the Danish Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. However, his true passion lay in furniture design, and he soon began working as a furniture designer and cabinetmaker.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Vodder gained recognition for his collaborations with renowned Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen. Together, they created a series of groundbreaking furniture pieces that exemplified the clean lines and organic forms characteristic of mid-century modern design. His designs often featured a combination of wood and other
