About L & JG Stickley

L & JG Stickley was a prominent American furniture manufacturer and design firm founded by brothers Leopold and John George Stickley. They were born in the late 19th century in Osceola, Wisconsin, and grew up in a family of craftsmen.

Leopold Stickley, born in 1859, initially worked as a stonemason before transitioning into furniture making. In 1883, he established his own furniture company, which later became known as L & JG Stickley. Leopold was known for his dedication to the Arts and Crafts movement, which emphasized the importance of handcrafted, high-quality furniture.
