Early in his career, Nattier primarily focused on portraiture, gaining recognition for his ability to capture the likeness and personality of his subjects. His portraits often featured members of the French aristocracy, including royalty and nobility. Nattier's refined technique, attention to detail, and delicate use of color made his portraits highly sought after by the elite. In addition to his portraiture work, Nattier also excelled in decorative arts. He collaborated with renowned furniture designers and craftsmen, creating intricate designs for tapestries, porcelain, and furniture. His decorative art pieces were characterized by their elegance, sophistication, and incorporation of Rococo motifs. Nattier's reputation continued to grow, and he became a favored painter of King Louis XV and his court. He was appointed as the official portraitist to the king's daughters and other prominent figures. Nattier's portraits of the royal family and courtiers showcased his ability to capture both their physical features and their social status, often emphasizing their opulent attire and regal surroundings. Throughout his career, Nattier received numerous accolades and awards for his contributions to the arts. He was admitted to the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in 1718 and later became a professor at the academy. His works were exhibited at the prestigious Salon de Paris, further cementing his reputation as one of the leading painters of his time. Nattier's style evolved over the years, adapting to the changing artistic trends of the 18th century. While he initially embraced the Baroque style, he later transitioned to the more delicate and decorative Rococo style. His later works showcased a greater emphasis on ornate details, pastel colors, and a whimsical portrayal of his subjects. Jean-Marc Nattier's artistic legacy continues to be celebrated and admired to this day. His works can be found in
