About Limbert Brothers

The Limbert Brothers, Charles and George, were prominent American furniture designers and manufacturers during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They were known for their distinctive Arts and Crafts style furniture, which featured clean lines, solid construction, and intricate detailing.

Charles Limbert was born in 1854 in Akron, Ohio, while his younger brother George was born in 1864. Charles initially worked as a carpenter and cabinetmaker, honing his skills in woodworking. In 1881, he established his own furniture company, Charles P. Limbert & Company, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. George joined his brother's business a few years later, and the company was renamed Limbert Brothers.
