About Ward Bennett

Ward Bennett (1917-2003) was an American furniture and interior designer, known for his minimalist and functional approach to design. Born in New York City, Bennett began his career as a teenager, working in the display department of a local department store. This early exposure to design ignited his passion for creating beautiful and functional objects.

In the 1940s, Bennett served in the United States Army during World War II. After his military service, he returned to New York City and established his own design studio. His early work was heavily influenced by the modernist movement, characterized by clean lines, simplicity, and functionality.
